Rosie Matilda Belton, 99, of Knappa, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Astoria.
She was born Dec. 24, 1909, in Svensen, to Victor and Myrtle Olson.
On Sept. 2, 1926, she married William "Bill" Johnson. He preceded her in death in 1971.
In 1950, she married George Belton. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Wallace and Marcella Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., Richard "Bud" and Ilene Johnson of Svensen and Gordon "Corkey" and Betty Johnson of Knappa; three daughters and a son-in-law, Marjorie Aho of Svensen, Rose Marie Oja of Las Vegas and Marlene and Richard Hempstead of McMinnville; a sister-in-law, June Olson of Astoria; generations of grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 today and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary.
A private graveside service will be held at Knappa Prairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lower Columbia Hospice, in care of Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave., Astoria, OR 97103.
