Richard A. Schleining

Airline ramp supervisor, 73Richard A. Schleining, 73, of Gearhart, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, in Tucson, Ariz.

Mr. Schleining was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Billings, Mont., to Henry and Mary Schleining.

In 1950, he married Mary Gustafson. She survives, residing in Gearhart.

Mr. Schleining graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland. He was a ramp supervisor for United Airlines for 35 years, retiring in 1984. He moved to Gearhart in 1985 and spent winters in Mexico and Arizona.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Rick Schleining of Portland; a daughter, Tobi Nielson; two brothers, Robert and Ronald Schleining, both of Portland; a sister, Marjorie Nagel of Portland; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial is 12:30 p.m. Monday at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, 1515 NE 106th, in Portland.
