Joy Stinson

Office manager, 74Joy Stinson, 74, of Portland and Gearhart, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004 in Gearhart of brain cancer.

Mrs. Stinson was born Jan. 5, 1930 in Portland to Thomas and Adabelle Carlton Overbey.

In 1949, she married Jack Stinson. He survives, living in Portland.

Mrs. Stinson worked for Swift Adhesives as an office manager. She lived in Portland for 64 years and became a Gearhart resident 10 years ago.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stinson is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Linda and John Wakefield of Sweet Home, Teri Stinson of Portland, Julie and John Kolberg of Gresham, Kelly and Brian Ruschman of Portland and Jackie and Mike Imel of Portland; two sisters, Mimi DeWeese of Camas, Wash., and Dorothy Axsmith of Eureka; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Parkrose United Methodist Church, 11111 N.E. Knott in Portland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Parkrose United Methodist Church or Seaside United Methodist Church.

Omega Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
