Paul Eugene Welfley

Mill worker, 71Paul Eugene Welfley, of Dallas, Oregon, 71 died Aug. 27, 2004 in Dallas.

Mr. Welfley was born in Falls City Jan. 23, 1933 to John and Victorine (Bowman) Welfley.

He spent his childhood in Oregon, Washinnton and Minnesota. Mr. Welfley served in the U.S. Air Force.

He married Dorothy Alice Neufeld June 21, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Tex. They moved to Astoria in 1956 where he worked for Astoria Plywood Corp. for 35 years, retiring in 1991. She died in 2000. Mr. Welfley then moved to Dallas to be near his family.

The family says he enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and reading.

Mr. Welfley is survived by his mother and step-father, Vickie and Mike Slyh of Dallas; brother Roy Welfley also of Dallas; sister Cindy Curtis of McCall, Idaho and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bollman Funeral Home in Dallas.
