James 'Doug' Douglas Yoder
Former area resident, 31James "Doug" Douglas Yoder, 31, of Bremerton, Wash., died Sunday, March 2, 2003, in Astoria.
Mr. Yoder was born March 19, 1971, in Bremerton, to James and Karen Sprague Yoder. His father survives, residing in Port Orchard, Wash.; his mother, Karen Foster, survives, residing in Seabeck, Wash.
On March 23, 1996, he married Cathy Peschl in Warrenton. She survives, residing in Seabeck.
Mr. Yoder grew up in Port Orchard. He was a fisherman in Astoria until April 1998, when he started working in construction. He worked for several companies in the area.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, trucks, camping, stereos, jet skiing and hunting. Family members say he was close to his daughter and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Haley Yoder of Seabeck; a step-father, Jim Foster of Seabeck; a step-mother, Carolyn Yoder of Port Orchard; a sister, Christina Klinkert of Seabeck; three nephews, John and Jacob Klinkert, both of Seabeck, and Seth Anderson of Florida; a half-brother, Tyler Yoder of Port Orchard; a grandfather, Daniel Sprague of Astoria; four uncles and aunts, John and Lori Sprague of Astoria, Bill and Judy Stephenson of Silverdale, Wash., Jim and Diana Sprague of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Dan and Susan Sprague of Stanwood, Wash.; and two cousins, Shannon Lane of Renton, Wash., and Denise Anderson of Florida.
Visitation is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Hughes-Ransom Mortuary in Astoria. Funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday at Hughes-Ransom Mortuary. Private burial is at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria.
