Michael Arnold Rinell, 69, of Lincoln City, passed away May 1st in his home.

He was born Dec. 18, 1944, in Astoria, OR, graduated from Astoria High School in 1963 and then joined the Navy.

He was active during the Vietnam war, and spent a year there with the Marine Corps, and was again activated during Desert Storm when he was sent to Germany.

He spent 40 years in the military and retired as sergeant first class from the Army Reserve.

In his civilian life, he worked as an accountant after getting a BA in accounting from Cal State Fullerton, CA in, 1974. He retired from his own business in 2005, and spent his remaining years boating and spending time with his family.

Mike was preceded in his death by his parents: Arnold Henry Rinell and Frances Maxine Dodson. Mike is survived by his wife Kristina and his three children: Kristine, Eric and Andrea. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three siblings.

Interment with military honors will be at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton Saturday, May 31st, at noon.
