Terry Lee Waring

Terry Waring

Astoria

May 12, 1958 — Nov. 4, 2015

Terry Lee Waring died in Astoria on Nov. 4, 2015, at the age of 57. He is survived by his loving wife Denise René Waring of Astoria, son Jason Carl Waring and granddaughter Natalia Waring of Warrenton, and daughter Robin Walls and her three children of Arizona. He also left behind his mother-in-law Jean Robertson of Warrenton, stepsons Anthony Rivera of Portland and Andrew Carter of Albany, nieces and a nephew in Arkansas, and numerous friends here in the area. He was predeceased by his parents and by his older brother Lloyd of Arkansas, who died in May 2015.

Terry was well known in Clatsop County, both for his interest in hot rods and for his encyclopedic knowledge of rock music going back before he was even born, with a special emphasis on the music of the Cars. Many people in the area knew Terry by his hot rod Cougar, which constantly kept him busy working on it. He loved car shows and car magazines. Everyone knew what a hard worker and a good cook Terry was. He and Denise enjoyed walking their dogs and having bonfires on the beach with friends.

There will be a celebration of Terry’s life at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Astoria, 300 Nehalem Ave., 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015.

In lieu of flowers, a donation fund to cover expenses has been opened at Wauna Credit Union in Denise Waring’s name for Terry Waring; contributions can be made at any credit union.
