In reference to what Claire Lovell said in her column of April 8, and the so-called apology of April 15, it has not assuaged my feelings. This thinking harks back to 1955, when such thinking was okay to say.

She stepped over the line because of her conservative ideas, and put bigotry and racism back in the forefront. I watched that nature program about monkeys and never even equated such thoughts as she has - "Some of them looked like someone we know."

There was no humor at all, only hate and ignorance.
