As president of Salmon for All and a local commercial fisherman, I felt a factual response to two letters published Dec. 20 in The Daily Astorian by Bob Rees, a professional mobile fishing guide (“Business boost”), and Liz Hamilton, executive director of Northwest Sportfishing Industry Association (“Sportfishers respond”), was in order.

Rees states that the governorÂ’s policy shift to sportfishing priority could nearly double angler effort in the Astoria area.
