I was impressed by the fact that Dr. Robert Mushen was present at the hearing in Seaside for the tunnel construction, also attending hearings in Astoria and Manzanita.

I have attended several of the "Coffee with the Commissioner" meetings at his home and was impressed when he replied to one of my questions regarding his feelings on LNG. He said, "I don't vote my own opinion, but the opinion of the people who live and work in the district that I represent."

I'm sure that he has his own concerns and might infuse those with the facts to get the public to think about their own opinions in the light of the information that is available to him, of which they may not be aware.

I believe he is conscientious in his efforts to stay on top of issues of importance to his constituents. Isn't that why we have elected officials: to represent us?

I hope that he is elected and I want to express my support as a business owner and active member of the community.
