We are blessed here at the mouth of the Columbia with some great community theater. Never was that more true than with the current Peninsula Association of Performing Artists production of The Wizard of Oz, playing at Fort Columbia, Wash.

Under the deft direction of Barbara Poulshok, a very talented group of musicians, vocalists and actors (from very young to rather, um, older) from both sides of the river weaves a magical, humorous and altogether delightful interpretation of this classic tale.

Add to that the intimate historic hall, the delicious free cookies and coffee served on the lawn at intermission and the view of the moon rising over the river, and you have yet another community event that shouldn’t be missed.
