In response to, "Catholic hospitals today. What next?" (The Daily Astorian, Jan. 31):

ObamaCare is not a threat. Current insurance coverage includes treatment for prostate and uterine cancer. Clearly, not every policy holder needs this coverage, as some are men and some are women.

Hospitals and other medical facilities exist to treat patients no matter their moral code or religious beliefs. Doctors and medical professionals are sworn to do their best for their patient's health, also no matter their moral code or religious beliefs.

Universal health insurance will only work if all are included - all patients and all medical professionals. I would also include all hospitals in this definition, but I believe that a religion-based hospital that treats only patients of that religion could be a valid exemption.
