Recently there was another of several accidents on Bond and Third streets.

Pulling up to Bond on Third, you can’t see traffic coming from the east because it is at the top of a hill. Not a big one, but big enough to obscure the view. The cars driving up the hill from the east are at the same disadvantage, and cannot see the cars pulling out until it is too late.

Basically, it’s a blind spot. Even though the speed limit is only 25 miles per hour (which most people don’t know), it can cause a bad accident. The city of Astoria cannot afford traffic lights. However, why not put more stop signs and make the intersections a four-way stop? Inexpensive and effective.
