A question for Kathy Super concerning her letter ("Let owners decide," The Daily Astorian, May 8) about the "many local economic markets that have seen dramatic drops in tax revenues from public smoking bans."

Please tell me exactly where these local areas are, and give me some idea of the economic damages that have been reported.

I realize that this paper instituted a policy of calling letter writers prior to publishing letters to make sure that they were written by them. I would appreciate it if while authenticating authorship, The Daily Astorian could ask for facts to back up claims made by the writers.
