I urge Sunset Empire Parks and Recreation District members to re-elect June Stromberg and JudyAnn Dugan as directors for the coming term. Both of these women have served with dedication, vision, and diligence in maintaining and improving SEPRD projects.

These projects include the expansion of the swimming pool building to accommodate the therapy pool. This resource provides recreation, rehabilitation and therapy for a wide spectrum of people. In addition, the acquisition of Able House enabled SEPRD to create a fitness center that offers classes and provides an opportunity for citizens to exercise at their convenience.

The skate board park presently under construction is another ambitious project overseen by the district. This partnership with the city of Seaside will provide facilities for our community, as well as for visitors to the area.

Other SEPRD programs supported by Stromberg and Dugan include ROXX, an after-school program that gives youngsters a safe, healthy place for after-school recreation.

The district has partnered with Our Saviors Lutheran Church to provide nutritious sack lunches for children during spring and summer breaks. In addition, the district's foundation provided over $14,000 in scholarship assistance that enabled people to use area recreation facilities.

The senior center also operates under the umbrella of the district, and a variety of valuable programs are offered there.

Please vote. And when you do, mark your ballot for Stromberg and Dugan.
