As a disillusioned voter presently registered with the Green Party, I find it extremely disingenuous of the two “sanctioned” parties (Republicans, Democrats) to hijack the primary elections.

If the two parties would volunteer to fund said primaries, that would be another debate. However, they are funded by all taxpayers, and that includes me – a person disenfranchised by the system. It also includes all the people so “over” the way business as usual is conducted in politics that they don’t even bother to resister or vote.

The Republicans and Democrats better wake up and move toward a progressive open voting structure that advances the top two candidates, or installs the top candidate if he/she receives more than 50 percent of the votes. That is what most of us outside their sphere would like, and probably most registered Republicans and Democrats, also – forgoing the old-school political hacks.
