I have had a smoldering idea whose time has come: Since pay telephone booths are not highly used anymore, the older (i.e. highly historic) ones could be enclosed and be used as smokers' booths ("Wrong law," The Daily Astorian, May 25).

Smokers would see their tobacco dollar go further as they recycle the otherwise secondhand smoke for their personal use.
