Social customs and mores evolve very slowly. For instance, it took us a long, long time to become upright-walking Homo sapiens with a discerning sense of human life in social groups.
The bid to get us to acknowledge the shared humanity of homosexual Homo sapiens will probably have to be made again and again before some of us get it through our ever-evolving brain cases.
Neither Rome, nor an equitable society in which all children are entitled to the benefits and protections of legally married parents, was built in a day. It'll take a while. It may take some of us longer than others, but we'll get there. You'll see.
