We would like to applaud your June 1 editorial in The Daily Astorian, "If you walk the right walk, money talks."
It is an exciting day for credit unions to see other organizations embrace the basic principles on which credit unions were founded.
You are correct when you state that, "leverage and partnerships are how large public projects get built these days." For years, credit unions have developed partnerships with community organizations and even with competing credit unions in order to maximize our leverage for the benefit of public works. It is refreshing to see other organizations transferring focus from their bottom-line toward the benefit of the community as a whole.
We are encouraged by this trend and look forward to working with like-minded organizations to continue to "make things happen here."
