I just wanted to again thank all of those who helped and supported me in my election to the Warrenton City Commission. I'm proud of the effort we put into the campaign and I am pleased with the result.
To those who voted for me, I resolve to be well-informed and to listen to you. I welcome any insight and advice those with experience might feel inclined to share. I know this will require a significant amount of time and devotion and I will strive to get up-to-speed before I take office.
To those who didn't vote for me, I will work to earn your confidence over the next four years. Regardless, it will be my goal to advocate for what is in the best interest of the city of Warrenton as a whole.
I also want to express my respect and appreciation to Jeff Hazen and the job he has done for the last five years, as a commissioner and as mayor. He has provided a tremendous service to the city during a difficult period and I am not alone in being grateful for that. He has been a good leader and I hope he will continue to be. No two people agree on everything, but I do know Hazen and I agree on a number of actions the city has taken during his tenure and in those instances, I hope to build on the foundation he has provided.
To all those who helped with signs, mailings and letters of support I am deeply appreciative. Now the real work begins.
