No ship scrapping in Oregon. Scrapping is the dirtiest business, and no matter what Bay Bridge Enterprises promises, there is bound to be leakage of toxic material into the river or leaching through the river bank.

The excuse is wages are too high in California. The truth is, environmental laws are too tough there. Towing these aging hulks to the Columbia River is not without high cost and I do not believe Oregon has the proper tools to guarantee 100 percent safeguards of no leakage into the environment.
