A recent article in the Arch Cape community newsletter, “Tunnel Echoes,” encourages neighbors to “spy” on neighbors and turn them in for violations of ordinances that are not even in effect (“Arch Cape/Cove Beach Local Wetland Inventory Update”).

This is just ongoing harassment of property owners who are being victimized by having their property possibly rezoned as endangered wetlands to the financial benefit of a few people in Cove Beach and Arch Cape who want to preserve their own view corridors and privacy, and increase the value of their own land.

I am a member of that community club, and am embarrassed that we should be encouraged to “spy” on or neighbors. Charles Dice, the author of the article, says, “... our community will be looking at every shovel full of dirt that anyone moves on or near the now mapped wetlands ...”

The residents of Cove Beach and Arch Cape need to be very careful not to do any gardening or suspicious digging, because you are being watched.
