Wafting from the Boston bomb scene was the whiff of family dysfunction. It was overwhelmingly odious when the uncle of the young perpetrators called his nephews losers. Indeed? As it applies to the young Tsarnaev brothers, was anyone at all on watch? In earnest? Ever?
The lesson here is something we should know already. We cant legislate, incarcerate or rehabilitate our way to a terror-free world. Rather, a terror-free world is tenderly reared, one child at a time.
As you pray for the Boston Marathon spectators maimed and killed, remember with the milk of human kindness the two only-just-barely men who missed out on what matters most in youth, ever-present parents who diligently oversee as they sculpt with precision and care. Please include in your prayers the now late 23-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and his surviving 19-year-old brother, Dzhokhar.
