Kudos to the fine folks at Camp Rilea for putting on an amazing Easter Egg Hunt this year. It was everything that such an event should be, and so far outshone the annual Tapiola Park city-sponsored hunt that it was akin to the difference between night and day.

We have four grandchildren between the ages of 12 and 3, and each and every one of them enjoyed the event tremendously. It was good for the kids and the well organized and run nature of it appealed to the parents and grandparents as well.

In addition to the hunt itself, each participant was given a gift bag (provided by Lum’s Auto Center) filled with toys and coupons for the child’s enjoyment. As if that were not enough, for every egg found with a ticket inside, the little ones were given an additional toy – and not junk either, but a good quality toy that would take some abuse and last a child quite a while.

It was simply a spectacular event. So, at least on our part, here is a hearty “well done” to the organizers and administrators of this hunt. It was the best event of this type that I have ever seen in the Clatsop County area. Thank you so much for putting this on for the kids on Easter.
