There has to be a better way. I received my ballot, enclosed was the precinct committee person ballot. This ballot was very long, and about 98 percent of the slots had no person listed for that voting district, and very few names listed at all for any district.

I am concerned about the cost – and for what?

Oregon has some counties that have severe financial situations. Some counties have even reduced the sheriff’s department staff, and other counties are struggling. Can we afford to even print this ballot?

I also understand from speaking with the state of Oregon election office, election people for counties some years back presented the cost, and questioned the law to the secretary of state office, and the legislators turned them down.

Wake up, Oregon. This law needs to be changed – it is a waste of our county’s money.
