People in Astoria should volunteer more. I have noticed that the public does not volunteer nearly enough. Almost all of the volunteer work done in the area is done by members of the U.S. Coast Guard. This is a problem because there is a high demand for volunteers and not enough people are donating their time to a worthy cause. People need to volunteer.

Volunteer work doesn’t always have to be work or boring if you volunteer somewhere that has meaning to you, or somewhere that is fun. I volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 509 in Warrenton. I chose to donate time to the Boy Scouts of America because it’s been such a major part of my life since the first grade.
