When do the residents of Seaside and Clatsop County get to vote on whether we want the Hood to Coast event here? Millionaire for-profit promoter Bob Foote will be asking the Seaside City Council for next year’s OK within a week or two, and he will get it. The serious impact on businesses, ranchers, farmers, traffic control and the quality of life during one of the best weekends of the year will again be ignored.

Hasn’t he made enough money off us bumpkins? Is there any way to postpone the automatic renewal of this event until those of us who live and work here can vote on it? Why is the city of Seaside the only entity making this decision?
