Bravo to everyone involved, and now on to Astoria (“Protesters Occupy Seaside,” The Daily Astorian, Oct. 10). For those who say we are an undefined movement, give us time.

I think I can safely say that we want to end these wars (180 Oregon National Guard just deployed recently), we want regulations on how the banks use our money, we want universal health care and we want everyone to pay their fair share of taxes. Human rights, social responsibility as well as personal responsibility, compassion.

I spend time in France and my friends there can't believe that a rich nation likes ours treats its citizens so shabbily. But we are the 99 percent; we are not serfs.

I hope people will stop fighting against their own interests and join us.
