Three area soccer teams will move on to the state playoffs, following early returns from Tuesday night action.

The Astoria boys defeated Philomath 3-2 to gain District 1's No. 3 seed to the state playoffs, which begin next week.

Central defeated Seaside 3-0 for the District 1 boys' championship, although both teams will advance to state. The Panthers will be the league's No. 1 seed, while the Gulls are the No. 2 seed.

In a District 1 girls' playoff, Seaside defeated Scappoose 6-0. The Gulls will host either Brookings-Harbor or Douglas later this week.

Abby Frank and Allie Brady scored two goals apiece for Seaside.
