The Astoria High School football coaching staff will conduct a four-day football camp Monday through Aug. 8, for students entering kindergarten through eighth grades this fall.

Camp times are 5:30 to 7 p.m. each night at John Warren Stadium/Gyro Field, with registration beginning at 5 p.m.

Cost is $30 per individual or $50 per family. Camp fee includes a T-shirt and free admission to the AHS Football Conditioning Camp the following week.

Camp instruction will include, but not be limited to, individual technique of all offensive, defensive and special teams positions; recommended nutritional training; off-season and in-season training; and the importance of goal-setting and team building.

The camp will also be led by the guidance of AHS Senior Captain Brandon Winters, as part of his senior project. Many current and former AHS football players will also serve as guest coaches.

People who may have a financial hardship should contact Astoria coach Howard Rub.

Campers should wear cloth shorts and a T-shirt, and preferably a cleated pair of shoes.

For questions, contact coach Rub 503-298-9419, or via email at
