SEASIDE — A two-run single by Scappoose senior Nathan Kranyak in the top of the sixth inning helped the Indians score a 3-2 win at Seaside Tuesday, in Cowapa League baseball action at Broadway Field.

Kranyak had all three RBIs for the Indians, who had to hold off a late rally by the Gulls.

Trailing 3-0, Seaside scored a run in the bottom of the sixth on a fielder’s choice by Kevin LaCoste, and the Gulls tacked on another run in the seventh.

Ian Cameron and Soren Johansson led off with singles, and Eddie Soller brought in a run with a sacrifice fly before Scappoose reliever Blake Updike recorded the final out with one pitch.

Seaside starter Nick Nelson went the distance on the mound, allowing six hits with three strikeouts and one walk.

The Gulls had five hits off Scappoose pitchers Will Sprute and Kody Backus.
