SEASIDE — Seaside rallied from an early 2-0 deficit with one run in the bottom of the first and four in the fifth, on its way to a 7-3 win over Tillamook in a Cowapa League baseball opener Tuesday at Broadway Field.

The Gulls tacked on two runs in the bottom of the sixth to help starter Aaron Tadei, who pitched six innings to earn the victory.

The Cheesemakers scored two runs on three hits in their first at-bat, before Tadei settled down and held the Mooks scoreless over the next four innings.

In his first game back from an early season injury, Seaside’s Kyle Hague delivered a big two-out, two-run double in the fourth inning.

Tadei helped himself with two hits, including a double and two runs scored. Justin White was 1-for-3 and scored three times for Seaside, which plays at Tillamook Thursday.

Kevin LaCoste pitched the seventh inning and earned the save for the Gulls, while Matt Strang went the distance on the mound for Tillamook, allowing seven hits.
