The first-round matchups are set for local baseball and softball teams taking part in the OSAA state playoffs, which begin Wednesday. Times are still to be determined.

Astoria, 16-7 overall, heads to Philomath, where the Fishermen will take on the Warriors, 15-9 overall, in a Class 4A baseball playoff. The winner will either play at Henley or host Cottage Grove Friday.

The No. 1-ranked Knappa Loggers – winners of 26 in a row – open the playoffs at home against Lost River, which finished the regular season with a 6-14 record.

The winner will play either Portland Christian or Weston-McEwen. The Loggers swept the Royals in three games during the regular season, and defeated Weston-McEwen 12-1 in nonleague play.

In a first round 2A softball playoff, Knappa (18-9) plays at Bonanza (22-6) Wednesday.
