In a shootout to the finish at a home meet April 25, both Boord and Keating broke Tyler Gerttula's 800 school record of 2:24.45. Boord outsprinted Keating to take the record in 2:19.69 to Keating's 2:20.1. Boord then brought the record down to 2:18.81 at the district championship meet.

Last Saturday, Keating competed in the Team Oregon USA meet in Sandy. He won the 1,500 in 4:45.2, shaving .05 off his school record. After taking second in the 400 meters (1:01.03), Keating's legs were loose and fired up to take on the 800, which he finished in 2:16.88 for a new school record by almost two seconds.
