HILLSBORO - For the second-straight tournament, the Astoria boys golf team shot its lowest score in two years, as the Fishermen took part in the Liberty Invitational Wednesday at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.
Competing against a field of all 5A or 6A schools, the Fishermen finished 18th out of 18 schools with a 378 team score.
West Albany won the team title with a 297, and Nigel Lett of Southridge was medalist with a 68.
Astoria's top golfer was freshman David Harrison, who had a personal best 92 (47-45). He was followed by Steven Baxley (46-48-94), Campbell Roscoe (46-48-94), Ronnie Stevens (54-44-98) and Eugene Park (51-60-111).
