TILLAMOOK — The host team won their own invitational Tuesday afternoon, as the Tillamook boys golf squad won the Cheesemaker Scramble at Alderbrook Golf Course.

The tournament was played in a two-man scramble format, with three teams from each school.

Tillamook posted a 146 team score, followed by Scappoose (149), Banks (150), Seaside (157) and Astoria (172).

The Philippi brothers of Banks (Ryan and Ross Philippi) and the Scappoose team of Alex Lukinbeal and Justin Olbrich tied for medalist honors.

Seaside’s Garrett Flowers and Sam Hinton teamed up to shoot 75 for fifth place, while Trenten Meyer and freshman Aaron Richardson paired to shoot 82 for Seaside’s other counting score. Will Brooks and David Harrison fired an 83 for Astoria’s top score.

Seaside travels to the Astoria Golf and Country Club to open Cowapa League play against Astoria Thursday.
