GEARHART — The Seaside boys golf team improved to 2-2 in league play, as the Gulls defeated Tillamook 366-388, in a league dual Wednesday at the Gearhart Golf Links.

Seaside’s Andrew Gooch was medalist with an 85, as Gooch and teammate Shane Fritter both had their career best scores.

Fritter scored an 89, while Seaside’s Garret Flowers also had his best round of the year with a 93. Sam Hinton added a 99 to complete the scoring for Seaside. Trenten Meyer finished with a 102.

“We showed some improvement throughout the program today,” said Seaside coach Jim Poetsch. “We had six guys shoot their season best today. We still aren’t where we need to be to get past the district tournament, but we are on the right track.”
