MILWAUKIE — Astoria faced a tough La Salle team Thursday, as the Falcons scored a 3-0 victory on their home field.

“(The Falcons) have a lot of great players, but we just weren’t ready to play,” said Astoria coach Bill Patterson. “They scored two minutes into the game, and that set the tone. Our inexperience really showed in places.”

The Falcons scored their second goal in the 33rd minute, then added a third score in the 56th minute to finish.

In other Cowapa League boys soccer action Thursday, Taft defeated Banks 2-0; North Marion defeated Tillamook 5-1, and Newport defeated Yamhill-Carlton 8-0.
