SEASIDE — David Ward’s penalty kick in the 60th minute was the only goal of the game Tuesday night at Seaside, as the Gulls settled for a 1-0 win over visiting Estacada at Broadway Field.

“In my opinion, we dominated the game,” said Seaside coach John Chapman. “We had lots of opportunities, our defense played solid, and our boys were very determined on the ball.”

Freshman Dylan Wallis and sophomore Raiden Bowles both had strong games for the Gulls, while “the whole defensive back line” (Shane Fritter, Sonny Davis, Hunter Thompson, Marshall Ferre) sparked Seaside’s defensive effort, Chapman said.

Ward also picked up the shutout victory in goal for the Gulls, who host Tillamook in a Cowapa League opener next Tuesday.
