TILLAMOOK - Tillamook kept pace with Astoria in the Cowapa League boys soccer standings with a 1-0 win over Seaside Monday night.

The Cheesemakers improve to 6-0-2, just one point behind Astoria (7-1-0) in the Cowapa standings.

A misplayed ball by the Gulls allowed a Tillamook score in the second half for the game's only goal.

"It was a nice, exciting game - toe-to-toe," said Seaside coach Jon Broderick. "I was real happy with our defense, and we had our opportunities on offense. We had quite a few good looks, we just didn't put anything away."
