Warrenton's Brian Bruney picked up his third win of the season Wednesday night, as the New York Yankees topped the Chicago White Sox 5-1 at Yankee Stadium.

Bruney (3-0) pitched the seventh inning and retired all three batters he faced, while the Yankees overcame a 1-0 deficit by scoring two runs in the seventh and three runs in the eighth to win.

Ken Griffey, Jr., opened the top of the seventh with a double to center field off New York pitcher Phil Coke. Bruney replaced Coke, and got Alexei Ramirez to ground out on a bunt, retired Juan Uribe with a pop fly to second, and got Orlando Cabrera to ground to second baseman Robinson Cano to end the inning.
