SILVER FALLS — The Knappa cross country team took part in the Oktoberfest Invitational Wednesday, a meet held at Silver Falls State Park.

The Knappa girls did not have a complete team, while the Logger boys finished 22nd out of 24 teams in the varsity race.

East Linn Christian won the boys’ team title, while Mitch Whiteside was Knappa’s top finisher (57th, 27 minutes, 9 seconds) on the 5,200-meter course.

Other finishers included Taylor Falls (59th, 27:20), Sam Nauha (78th, 29:03), Patrick Maize (94th, 30:32), Chris Montano (96th, 30:37), Dawson Whiteside (107th, 32:14) and Devin Lewis-Allen (116th, 34:13).

Knappa’s highest finish of the day belonged to Jovana Kasovic, who placed 14th in the girls’ race in 30:22. Devin Vandergriff was 30th in 34:13.
