SALEM - The annual fall hunting forecast compiled by field biologists is now available on the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Web site. The site is on the Internat at (www.dfw.state.or.us/public/NewsArc/current_news.html)

The forecast provides information from ODFW field biologists on upcoming deer, elk, pronghorn, cougar, bear, upland game bird and waterfowl seasons. ODFW biologists are predicting good seasons for mule deer in many areas of eastern Oregon and good seasons for Roosevelt elk in western Oregon. In addition, many game bird populations will provide good hunting opportunities.

Hunters gearing up for fall hunting are reminded that the ODFW Headquarters has moved to Salem and all phone and fax numbers related to licensing and tags have changed. Hunters seeking to fax mail order applications should use the new fax number (503) 947-6117. The Licensing Services phone number is (503) 947-6100.
