The Seaside High School girls softball team had two players selected for the Cowapa League all-league team. Abby Frank and Brenna Archibald were selected as part of the elite team by the coaches in the league. Jackie Bermingham and Ally Brady were also selected as honorable mention players. All four are seniors.
"Abby, our senior centerfielder, batted .390 in Cowapa League play and .377 for the season to lead the team in both league and overall," said coach Tom Mauldin. "She also led us in runs scored, base hits and on base percentage. She committed only one error all season. She was a four-year starter. Her 29 hits for the season ties her for second in the school record books with Cammy Chamblin (1998) and jenni Bradley (1999). The school record is 31 - jointly held by La
Foster (1999) and Derai Darling (2004).
"Brenna, our senior third baseman, was all-league last year," Mauldin added. "She batted .333 overall and .232 in league and was second on team in runs scored, hits, RBIs, stolen bases and on-base percentage. Terrific fielding.
"Jackie hit .250 for the season and led us in runs batted in. She was our
senior catcher. Ally, our diminutive leftfielder was also a senior. She set school record for sacrifice bunts in a season with 17. That's a very impressive number."
