The La Salle Falcons were relentless Friday night at the Brick House, on both ends of the floor in a 53-16 win over Astoria in a nonleague girls basketball game.
La Salles pressure defense forced 25 Astoria turnovers in the first half (32 for the game), while the Falcons used a 44-0 run on offense to take full command of the contest.
Two baskets by Astorias Nadine Englund gave the Lady Fishermen a 4-1 lead in the opening minutes of the game, but La Salle responded with 44 unanswered points to build a lead that would reach 45-4 late in the third quarter before a free throw by Astorias Julieanna Carr broke the string.
Sterling Swift scored 15 points to lead the Falcons, who were playing their fifth straight opponent from the Cowapa League. La Salle defeated Tillamook and Scappoose, but lost games to Banks and Seaside, Astorias next opponent.
Chloee Hunt and Ashlyn Gohl both hit 3-pointers for the Fishermen in the fourth quarter.
