Seaside 4, Estacada 1
ESTACADA In a late final from Tuesday, the Seaside girls soccer team overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit to score a 4-1 win at Estacada.
The Rangers scored in the first half, when Cassie MacMurray got to a ball on the left side of the penalty area and scored.
It took the Gulls just six minutes to score in the second half, as Hannah Garhofer was fouled just outside the penalty area on the left side. She took the free kick and scored in the 46th minute.
In the 57th minute, Seasides Sophie Trevino took the ball deep up the right side and crossed to Alli Utti on the left side of the goal, where Utti one-touched the ball into the net.
Two minutes later, Garhofers corner kick from the left found Trevino in front of the goal, and Trevino volleyed the ball into the net.
The scoring rampage continued four minutes later, when Reese Januik passed to Maddi Utti, and Utti dribbled up the right side before unleashing a low shot to the far post for the final goal.
This was a game of two halves, said Seaside coach Dave Rouse. In the first half Seaside had trouble controlling the ball on the small rough field and looked sluggish. In the second half, Seaside came alive and dominated play, stringing passes together, creating scoring opportunities and winning most 50-50 balls.
