SEASIDE - The Rainier and Seaside swim teams split a Cowapa League dual meet Thursday at Broadway Pool.

The Seaside boys cruised past the Columbians 95-33, while Rainier defeated the Gull girls, 79-67.

Seaside swimmers had first-place finishes on both sides, as Dylan Ford (200-yard individual medley, 100-yard breaststroke) and Jonathan Vitron (50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke) each won two events for the boys.

Rebecca Fisk (200-yard and 500-yard freestyles) and Shandi Bruijn (100-yard butterfly, 100 backstroke) won twice for the girls.

Seaside is scheduled to host Tillamook Tuesday.

Too wet for swimmersIn an ironic twist, too much water postponed Thursday's Cowapa League swim meet between Tillamook and Astoria.

With flooding on Highway 101, the Cheesemakers were unable to make the trip to Astoria.

The meet may be made up Monday. The Fishermen were scheduled to take part in a makeup dual at Rainier Tuesday, but the meets may be combined.
