RIDGEFIELD, Wash. - Ilwaco's Katie Holmes had another first-place finish in the long jump, highlighting her team's performance in the Ridgefield Invitational track meet last week.

Holmes jumped 15 feet, one inch to win the long jump competition, helping the Lady Fishermen to a fifth-place showing in the team standings.

The Ilwaco boys placed third with 93 points, behind team champion White Salmon (136.3) and Stevenson (119.3).

Holmes also took second in the 100- and 200-meter races (in times of 13.25 and 27.65, respectively).

Teammate Michelle Wroble added a second-place finish in the 800 meters (2:45.95).

The Ilwaco boys picked up big points from Ed Guelfi (first in the 1,600 meters in 4:52.73; second in the 800 in 2:11.97); Nate Appel (first in the 400 meters, 51.05); and Joe Goelz (first in the javelin, 124-11).

Ilwaco's 400-meter relay squad of Heath Miller, Appel, Garrett Binion and Guelfi won their event in 46.79.
