WARRENTON The final matchups are set for the Junior State District Tournament, scheduled for Thursday and Friday at Broadway Field.
Tillamook and Warrenton finished off the regular season Tuesday afternoon at Huddleston Field, with the Warriors securing a No. 2 seed with an 8-7 win over the Cheesemakers.
Thursdays action will include four games, beginning at 10 a.m. with Tillamook vs. Astoria Ford, and followed by a 1 p.m. contest between Knappa and Warrenton.
At 4 p.m., Seaside will play the winner of Game 1, and at 7 p.m., Clatskanie will face the winner of Game 2.
The top three teams in the tournament advance to a Regionals round.
The Warriors had to rally twice to win Tuesdays game.
Warrenton trailed 4-1 going into the bottom of the third inning, when Justice Watson reached on an error and Bradd Lundberg drew a two-out walk, which was followed by a three-run homer from Hunter Michaelson to tie the game.
Tillamook answered with two runs in the top of the fourth, but the Warriors responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
Joe Little had a leadoff single, Tyler Whitaker walked, and Tanner Robinson followed with a two-run single to tie the score.
Gavon McFadden bunted safely, Robinson scored the go-ahead run on an errant pickoff throw, and McFadden sprinted home on a double steal attempt.
Brock Johnson started for Warrenton and pitched three innings, and Michaelson tossed the final four innings to pick up the win.
The Cheesemakers had baserunners in every inning except the seventh, but stranded 10 runners.
