PORTLAND - The Knappa cross country teams swept everything there was to sweep in a pre-district meet Friday at Pier Park in Portland.

The Knappa boys won the team title with 25 points, followed by Portland Lutheran (77), De La Salle (124), Vernonia (129), Portland Adventist (133) and Neah-Kah-Nie (134).

The Knappa girls also won a team title, compiling 42 points to outdistance Portland Adventist (85), De La Salle (90) and Vernonia (123). Knappa's Curtis Olds won the boys' race in 17 minutes, 35 seconds, while the Loggers' Gretchen George placed first in the girls? race in 22:45.

Knappa's Brenten Salisbury (18:41) took fourth in the boys' race and Amanda Nichols (23:57) placed fourth for the girls, and Josh Frye (19:02) added a fifth-place showing for the boys. The Loggers' Kirsty Coghill was eighth in the girls' race (52:00).

Warrenton also had runners competing, including Janessa Gramson (6th, 24:26) and Claudia Campos (21st, 28:48); and Kevin Dugan (35th, 22:41) for the boys.
